a good idea

I have gotten several e-mails on this and the Urban Legends Referecence page thinks it's a good idea. Apparently the e-mails saying "don't do it" are the hoaxes. http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/icephone.asp
I worked the lost and found booth at a recent conference and this would have made locating the owners of the many lost cell phones much, much easier. Think about it.

Subject: I C E - Good idea to follow for your cell phone

The East Anglian Ambulance Service has launched a national "In case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign.

The idea is that you store the word " I C E " in your mobile phone phonebook, and against it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency".

In an emergency situation, ambulance and hospital staff will then be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.

For more than one contact name ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.
